Publishing the schedule

Publish drafts for the week and notify assigned employees.

For managers & adminsUpdated 31 August 2026
  1. When the week has draft shifts, the Publish button shows the count, e.g. Publish (1).
  2. Select it. The Publish Schedule dialog tells you exactly what will happen, e.g. "This will publish 1 draft shift for the week of Aug 17 – Aug 23, 2026 and notify assigned employees." It also warns if any draft is missing a position or location.
  3. Confirm with Publish. You'll see "Published N shifts — Employees will be notified of their scheduled shifts."

Each assigned employee receives a Schedule Published notification on the web bell and in the Android Action Inbox.

You can also select specific shifts first — the dialog then publishes just the selection.

Practices

  • Publish once per week, not shift by shift. Every publish is a notification; ten publishes is ten pings for the same roster.
  • Read the dialog's warnings before confirming. A shift missing a position or location will publish, but it will be unusable for deployment and wage estimates.
  • Build the whole week as drafts, walk it once looking for gaps and conflicts, then publish.
